Harriet Tubman – The Moses of her People
Harriet Tubman escaped slavery in 1849 and later led about 70 others to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Declaring liberty or death as her creed, she returned to rescue slaves, including crossing Buffalo's Suspension Bridge to Canada.
